Have you ever felt a moment of absolute bliss? A moment where everything felt perfect, where you were completely in tune with yourself and the world around you? That moment where come out of a deep meditation and experience the feeling of oneness with the universe? That moment where the view catches your breath? A transcendent moment at climax where you know you touched the heavens or felt the presence of god?

These moments are rare and fleeting, but they offer a glimpse into a profound truth about our nature: at our core, we are pure love. This pure love is often obscured by the layers of wounds and projections we accumulate throughout our lives, but it is always there, waiting to be rediscovered.

The Layers That Obscure Our True Nature

As we journey through life, we encounter various experiences that shape our perceptions and beliefs. From childhood, we begin to build a complex web of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours as responses to our environment. These experiences often include moments of pain, rejection, and fear, which leave us wounded and guarded. We develop coping mechanisms to protect ourselves, creating layers of projections and defences that cloud our true nature.

These projections are like a veil that hides our pure essence. They manifest as negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, and emotional reactions that distort our perception of reality. Over time, these layers become so ingrained that we begin to identify with them, believing that they define who we are. However, beneath these layers lies our true self, untainted and pure.

The Journey of Uncovering Pure Love

The process of uncovering our pure essence involves peeling back these layers of woundings and projections. It is a journey of self-discovery and healing, where we confront our deepest fears and insecurities. This journey requires courage, patience, and a willingness to face uncomfortable truths about ourselves.

One of the first steps in this journey is becoming aware of our projections. This means recognising when our thoughts and emotions are influenced by past wounds rather than the present moment. By observing our reactions without judgment, we can begin to see the patterns that keep us trapped in a cycle of pain and suffering.

Practices such as mindfulness and meditation can be powerful tools in this process. They help us cultivate a state of presence, where we can observe our thoughts and emotions without getting entangled in them. Through regular practice, we can develop a greater sense of self-awareness and begin to untangle the knots of our past.

The Role of Self-Compassion

As we delve deeper into our wounds, it is crucial to approach ourselves with compassion. Healing is not about condemning ourselves for our past mistakes or weaknesses, but about embracing our humanity with kindness and understanding. Self-compassion allows us to hold space for our pain without becoming overwhelmed by it.

One way to practice self-compassion is through self-care rituals that nurture our mind, body, and spirit. This can include activities such as journaling, spending time in nature, or engaging in creative pursuits. By prioritising our well-being, we send a message to ourselves that we are worthy of love and care.

The Experience of Bliss

As we continue to shed the layers of our wounds and projections, we begin to reconnect with our true essence. This essence is pure love, and one of the ways we experience it is through moments of bliss. Bliss is not just a fleeting emotion; it is a state of being that arises when we are in alignment with our true self.

Bliss can be experienced in various forms, such as a sense of peace, joy, or deep contentment. It is often accompanied by a feeling of expansiveness, where we feel connected to something greater than ourselves. These moments remind us of our innate goodness and the boundless love that resides within us.

Cultivating Bliss in Everyday Life

While moments of bliss may come and go, we can cultivate a state of being that allows us to experience them more frequently. Here are some practices that can help us stay connected to our true essence and invite more bliss into our lives:

1. Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful practice that shifts our focus from what is lacking to what is abundant in our lives. By regularly acknowledging and appreciating the blessings we have, we cultivate a mindset of positivity and abundance. This opens our hearts to experience more joy and contentment.

2. Mindfulness

Mindfulness involves being fully present in the moment and accepting it without judgment. It helps us break free from the cycle of negative thinking and connect with the beauty of the present. By practicing mindfulness, we can savor the simple pleasures of life and find joy in everyday experiences.

3. Authenticity

Living authentically means embracing our true self and expressing it without fear. It involves letting go of the need for approval and validation from others. When we live authentically, we align with our true essence and create a life that reflects our deepest values and desires.

4. Connection

Human connection is a fundamental aspect of our well-being. By fostering meaningful relationships and engaging in acts of kindness, we create a sense of belonging and community. Connection reminds us that we are not alone and that we are all interconnected through the bond of love.

5. Surrender

Surrendering means letting go of the need to control and allowing life to unfold naturally. It involves trusting that everything is happening for our highest good, even when it doesn’t make sense. By surrendering, we release resistance and open ourselves to the flow of life, which often brings unexpected moments of bliss.

The Transformative Power of Love

At our core, we are pure love. This love is not something we need to acquire or achieve; it is our true nature. The journey of uncovering this essence is a process of healing and self-discovery, where we shed the layers of our wounds and projections. As we reconnect with our true self, we experience moments of bliss that remind us of our innate goodness.

Bliss is a reflection of our pure essence, a state of being that arises when we are aligned with our true nature. By cultivating practices such as gratitude, mindfulness, authenticity, connection, and surrender, we can invite more bliss into our lives and stay connected to our pure essence.

In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, remembering our true nature can be a source of profound comfort and strength. It reminds us that, despite the challenges we face, we are inherently good and worthy of love. By embracing our true self and living from a place of pure love, we can create a life that is rich with meaning, joy, and fulfillment.

The journey to rediscover our pure essence is not always easy, but it is undoubtedly worth it. As we peel back the layers of our wounds and projections, we uncover the boundless love that resides within us. This love is our true essence, and it is always there, waiting to be rediscovered. When we live from this place of pure love, we experience the true meaning of bliss.

‘Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it, and embrace them.’ ~ Rumi
